Connect Claude Code

Claude Code connects to the Getsitecontrol MCP server directly over HTTP. No extra software is needed.

Add the server

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http gsc https://api.getsitecontrol.com/v1/mcp

By default, the server is added for the current project only. Add --scope user to make it available in all your projects.

Sign in

1. Start Claude Code and run /mcp.
2. Select the gsc server and choose to authenticate.
3. Sign in to Getsitecontrol in the browser window that opens, check the account and the app name on the consent screen, and click Allow.

Then start with a read-only request:

List the Getsitecontrol sites I can access. Show their names and IDs, and do not change anything.

Understand the access you grant

Claude Code acts as your Getsitecontrol user, with your current permissions across the sites you can access. Depending on your role, it can read and change data.

An API key is for the REST API and is not accepted by the MCP server.
